Jill is a subject matter expert and communications technology practitioner with three decades of experience building, servicing and training organizations and individuals on how to construct and use wireless analogue and digital radio systems in portable radios, mobile and base stations and repeater systems.
During the last several years of her federal tenure, Jill took the lead for the NPS’s Pacific West Region as project manager, guiding the agency in its conversion of wireless radio systems from Wide Band to Narrow Band format. Literally constructing a system design from scratch, Jill built and customized the radio systems of 32 NPS sites and liaised regularly with the National Telecommunications and Information Administration while developing and programming additional frequencies for use by law enforcement, fire, EMS and administrative units. During her tenure as a NPS Telecommunications Specialist Jill held responsibility for agency communications over the entire Pacific West regional communications system. These responsibilities entailed overseeing the implementation, training and support of regional email networks and the accounting and computerized personnel management systems. Additional responsibilities included continuous maintenance and oversight of continuity operations of the regional local area networks that supported the programs listed above, both in the regional office, and at individual park level.
