Ben Anderson is a native of Beaverton, Oregon.
Ben obtained an officer’s commission from the U.S. Navy Officer Candidate School in 2009. He has served as a Navy Reserve and Active Duty Public Affairs Officer across a broad spectrum of staff planning and operational leadership capacities.

Ben graduated from George Fox University in Newberg, Oregon in 2008 with a Bachelor of Science, Interdisciplinary (Biology, Political Science, and Religion). He holds a 2015 Masters of Public Policy (International and STEM Policy) with honors from California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo, and is a 2012 graduate of the Public Affairs Qualification Course at the Defense Information School in Fort Meade, Maryland. He is the recipient of the 2015 California Polytechnic Political Science Department John H. Lynn Awards for Academic Excellence and for Outstanding Master of Public Policy Research Paper. His personal decorations include the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (two awards).
